Between 2008-2011, the Koshlong Lake Association engaged in a series of research endeavors to better understand both the lake environment and the concerns and priorities of lake residents.
The resulting Lake Management Plan (published in 2013) concluded that priority should be given to initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving the ecology and social character of the lake.
The diagram to the right shows that KLA efforts to sustain a healthy environment should include research, education, communication and advocacy to protect water quality, fish & wildlife, shorelines, trees & forests, and to regulate development.
